Open Happiness

Hey guys! If you haven't heard, Brendon Urie met up with Butch Walker, Cee-lo, Polow da Don, Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Janelle Monae, and Travis McCoy (Gym Class Heroes) and recorded a song called 'Open Happiness'. Please go to http://www.myspace.com/openhappiness and listen to the WHOLE SONG then comment and tell me what you think! And if you really, REALLY like this song, you can buy it on iTunes! (On iTunes, there's 2 versions, and the Butch Walker Original Coke Remix is the song from the myspace link). I thought it was pretty good. It had a little bit of every artist/band member in the song.

Panic Songs

Since Panic has 2 incredible albums, I want to hear which song is your favorite, why, and which album is your overall favorite!
I have 2 favorite songs: 'Mad as Rabbits' and 'Pas de Cheval'. I love 'Mad as Rabbits' because it sounds like a nonsense song but it actually has a great beat, melody, and cool lyrics! The message that I got out of it was that someone followed the crowd and got hurt (physically/mentally) and became someone they weren't. 'Pas de Cheval' is a little different. The dictionary meaning of 'pas de cheval' (noun, ballet)- a step in which the dancer hops on one foot and paws the ground with the other. (from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pas%20de%20cheval ). I'm not exactly sure the meaning I got out of this one, but the melody is awesome!
Does anyone else think that a part in 'When the Day Met the Night' ("Well, he was just hanging around, then he fell in love! And he didn't know how, but he couldn't get out!") sounds like another song?
If you have a favorite Panic song, tell me about it! And listen to 'When the Day Met the Night'.

Opinion

I've heard mixed reviews on Panic's music and some people think their music is emo-themed. Brendon said (as seen on a previous post) "We are not emo! We are emotional in the sense that we love what we do." Go to www.starpulse.com and search Panic at the Disco to find out more.

Tell me what you think of Panic!

Those Las Vegas Guys

Hey guys! Here's a little info on Panic at the Disco, formerly Panic! at the Disco.

Original Band Name:
Panic! at the Disco

Original Band Members:
Brendon Urie-Lead Vocalist, Backup Guitar
Ryan Ross-Lead Guitar, Backup Vocalist
Brent Wilson-Bassist
Spencer Smith-Drums

Today, the band is made of:
Brendon Urie-Lead Vocalist, Backup Guitar
Ryan Ross-Lead Guitar, Backup Vocalist
Jon Walker-Bassist
Spencer Smith-Drums

Panic's original members were all high school friends. Before they became famous, Ryan Ross was the lead vocalist. Then Brendon decided to join. He had to sing in front of the other members, and they all agreed that Brendon should be the lead vocalist. Panic's first album, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out", debuted before the friends were out of high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, turning the city's teenagers into Panic addicts! When Brent Wilson left, Jon Walker, another good friend of the Panic guys, joined and became the new bassist. During the 2006 holiday season, Panic! at the Disco eliminated the exclamation mark, becoming Panic at the Disco, foreshadowing a more psycadellic vibe inspired by the Beatles. Their second album, "Pretty. Odd." debuted in 2008 and swept up even more people into becoming Panic fans.
